Ready To Make Your Picks For Super Bowl 51?

READY TO MAKE YOUR PICKS FOR SUPER BOWL 51 - Diversity News Magazine SportsJust as soon as Super Bowl 50 came to a close, the world started thinking about Super Bowl 51. According to the sportsbooks, the usual suspects will be right back in the thick of things in 2017. Tom Brady and the New England Patriots (+800) are followed by Russell Wilson and the Seattle Seahawks (+900). They’re then being pursued by the Carolina Panthers (+900), Pittsburgh Steelers (+1,000), Green Bay Packers (+1,200), Arizona Cardinals (+1,400), Cincinnati Bengals (+1,600) and the Super Bowl champion Denver Broncos (+1,600).

Not surprisingly, similar odds are listed across the net. The favorites are the favorites, there’s no other way about it. All of the oddsmakers listed at this sportsbook review site say the same. The Patriots are favored, followed by a Seahawks and Panthers tie. So in other words, we could be looking at an instant replay of the 2015 playoffs. Things could end up shaking down in the exact same fashion. Although, there will be a few changes to take note of.

In Seattle, the days of ‘Beast Mode’ are no more. Marshawn Lynch has announced his retirement and is moving on from the game. The Seahawks are moving on as well. They’ll now put the starting running back reins in the hands of Thomas Rawls. They’ll also likely have starting tight end Jimmy Graham back for the postseason. So expect Seattle to be a stronger looking crew up front.

Another rebuilt team will be the New England Patriots. Well, not exactly rebuilt, mind you. They will have most of the same players, but they’ll also likely be healthy. Meaning their postseason roster will look very different from its 2016 rendition. At running back, Dion Lewis and LaGarrette Blount will return to help carry the load, literally. If all goes according to plan, the team will also look to have a healthy Julian Edelman at wide receiver for more than just nine games next season as well.

The biggest change will come in Denver. It appears that the Denver Broncos are looking to move on from Peyton Manning, regardless of what he decides to do with his future. This means that Brock Osweiler will be in the driver seat. He filled in for Manning this past season and posted a 5-2 record. He also put up far better numbers than the aging quarterback across the board. The only downside, is that he does not have the experience of Manning. Combine that with the possibility of losing Super Bowl 50 MVP linebacker Von Miller to free agency, and the Broncos could be looking at a pretty big setback next season.

Hollywood Hit Recording Artist Fawn Releases CD To Benefit Special Needs Animals

Billboard Hit Recording Artist Fawn
Billboard Hit Recording Artist Fawn.

On Tuesday, November 17, 2015, Stonedef Records announced that they are releasing a new album ‪this Friday, November 20, 2015 from the Billboard hit recording artist Fawn.

The album entitled, “Remnants” is an 11 song CD of original piano-based compositions written by the award-winning singer/songwriter and composer. Fifty percent of the proceeds ‪through December 31, 2015 will benefit The Pepper Foundation, a non-profit animal rescue organization dedicated to saving the lives of senior and special needs dogs.

Fawn (aka ‘Songirl’) is recognized for her television, film, commercials, pop and dance songs, so this is a departure from her past musical endeavors. According to Fawn, “Even though I’m known more for my pop songs and dance hit, I’ve always written piano pieces, as well as many other styles of music, and I decided to compile some of my piano compositions into an album.” Another immense change is her easily recognized lady Godiva blond braids. This album cover shows Fawn for the first time, braid-less, with what she proclaims to be her “normal hair when it’s not tied up”.

With half of all sales from this album going to dogs, it’s no wonder the front of the album cover depicts Fawn with her beloved rescue dog (an American Eskimo appropriately named ‘Composer’), who lived to the age of 23. Fawn recalls, “He was the one true love of my life, who knew me better than I knew myself.” Fawn continued, “These are the songs that reveal my inner makings—the turmoil, the heart ache—they are the compositions I wrote when my feelings were so strong, that all I could do was sit at the piano and allow the emotions to flow through my fingers onto the piano. Those deep, heart-wrenching moments were so profound and personal that no words were able to come out.” Fawn concluded, “The music from this album poured out of my soul, like a river overflowing and these musical pieces are the result of my emotions and tears.”

President and founder of The Pepper Foundation, Julie Chadwick said, “It is a great honor that the amazing songwriter Fawn is sharing her music with the world and with us this holiday season by donating 50% of all proceeds to the Pepper Foundation.” She explained, “The Pepper Foundation is dedicated to rescuing special needs senior dogs from high kill shelters and we are very lucky and blessed that an incredible artist like Fawn is so generously supporting our mission.” Julie concluded, “With each purchase of Fawn’s album, you will be helping save another precious life and help them get the medical care and love each of them so desperately needs.”

Fawn explained, “I think Julie is very passionate about these little innocent seniors and special needs animals. She is compassionate, caring and gets them top notch care, meets their medical needs, finds them wonderful homes or fosters so they can be loved up until the end, like they deserve. She truly cares about seniors that families dump at the shelter, and the specialized dogs that get left behind. She will leave no stone unturned when it comes to their happiness, health and over all well-being. She’s just fantastic.”

To purchase the album go to iTunes at https://itunes.apple.com/us/album/remnants/id1057835057, Amazon, and other worldwide outlets or you can send a direct donation via paypal to:

stonedef_records@yahoo.com

or ‪thepepperfoundation.org (http://thepepperfoundation.org/) with the subject: “Remnants” and the digital album will be delivered to your email address. You can also purchase Fawn’s 2 Holiday albums: “Angels We Have Heard On High” and “Ode To Amour” which will also benefit the Pepper Foundation.

The 31st Annual AIDS Walk Los Angeles 2015 Raised $2,375,946 at Event

Celebrities, elected leaders, and 20,000 other caring people united to raise funds for much needed HIV/AIDS services and prevention programs.

On Sunday, October 11, 2015, MZA Events held their 31st annual AIDS Walk Los Angeles in West Hollywood Park at 647 N San Vicente Blvd, West Hollywood, CA 90069 from 8:30 am to 3:00 pm.

More than 20, 0000 caring celebrities, elected leaders, corporations, small business and caring participants showed unity to raise funds, education, find the cure for HIV/AIDS and awareness for our next generations with new services and prevention programs.

“Today’s high temperatures did not stop our supporters from turning out in massive numbers and raising $2,375,946,” said AIDS Walk Founder and Senior Organizer Craig R. Miller.“Just as they have since the beginning of the epidemic, this inspiring community continues to manifest the commitment, compassion, and power necessary to end AIDS, regardless of the political, epidemiological, or literal climate. AIDS Walk supporters are anything but fair-weather friends. They tough it out with us year after year, no matter what.”

“We are incredibly thankful for everyone who raised funds, showed up this morning, and braved the heat to do the Walk with us,” APLA Chief Executive Officer Craig E. The funds raised through the Walk give us an opportunity to really change its arc by ensuring that people living with HIV and AIDS are getting the support and health care they need while now also being able to deliver health care—including HIV testing, STD screening, and PrEP—to HIV-negative individuals in L.A. County. It’s a pretty powerful combination that will have a real impact.”

Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti spoke about the current HIV/AIDS crisis in the city, encouraging everyone to know their status. “We want people to go out there and take advantage of free testing, and to spread the word,” he said. The Mayor also noted his support of the trans community, a population that experiences disproportionately high rates of HIV infection. “We need trans equality in this city and in this country and in this world, today, right now, right here,” said Mayor Garcetti.

Other elected officials in attendance included: California State Senators Ricardo Lara, Isadore Hall, and Ben Allen; California State Assemblymembers Mike Gipson and Adrin Nazarian; Los Angeles County Assessor Jeffrey Prang; West Hollywood Mayor Pro Tem Lauren Meister, who spoke on behalf of the AIDS Walk host city; West Hollywood City Councilmembers John D’Amico, John Duran, and John Heilman; L.A. Editorial and Opinions Education: State and National Shield Laws in the USA

First, we want to define for you what an Editorial piece means:

An editorialleading article (UK) or leader (UK), is an opinion piece written by the senior editorial staff or publisher of a newspapermagazine, or any other written document. Editorials may be supposed to reflect the opinion of the periodical.[citation needed] In Australian and major United States newspapers, such as The New York Times[1] and The Boston Globe,[2] editorials are often classified under the heading “opinion”.

Illustrated editorials may appear in the form of editorial cartoons.[3]

Typically, a newspaper’s editorial board evaluates which issues are important for their readership to know the newspaper’s opinion.[4]

Editorials are typically published on a dedicated page, called the editorial page, which often features letters to the editor from members of the public; the page opposite this page is called the op-ed page and frequently contains opinion pieces by writers not directly affiliated with the publication. However, a newspaper may choose to publish an editorial on the front page. In the English language press, this is done rarely and only on topics considered especially important; however, it is more common in some European countries such as SpainItaly, and France.[5]

In the field of fashion publishing, the term has been adapted to refer to photo-editorials – features with often full-page photographs on a particular theme, designer, model or other single topic, with or (as a photo-essay) without accompanying text.[6]

Second, we want to define for you what an Opinion piece means:

In general, an opinion is a judgment, viewpoint, or statement about matters commonly considered to be subjective.

What distinguishes fact from opinion is that facts are verifiable, i.e. can be objectively proven to have occurred. An example is: “United States of America was involved in the Vietnam War” versus “United States of America was right to get involved in the Vietnam War”. An opinion may be supported by facts, in which case it becomes an argument, although people may draw opposing opinions from the same set of facts. Opinions rarely change without new arguments being presented. It can be reasoned that one opinion is better supported by the facts than another by analyzing the supporting arguments.[1] In casual use, the term opinion may be the result of a person’s perspectiveunderstanding, particular feelings, beliefs, and desires. It may refer to unsubstantiated information, in contrast to knowledge and fact.

Collective or professional opinions are defined as meeting a higher standard to substantiate the opinion.

Editorial opinion[edit]

An “editorial opinion” is the stated opinion of a newspaper or of its publisher, as conveyed on the editorial page.

And Fourth California Shield Law:

In California, article I, section 2(b) of the California Constitution and Evidence Code section 1070 provide an immunity from being held in contempt to reporters, editors, publishers, and other people connected with or employed by newspapers, magazines, press associations and wire services, as well as radio or TV news reporters.

The California shield law applies to both the source of information (“confidential sources”) and to “unpublished information” such as notes, out-takes, unpublished photographs and tapes.

When a criminal defendant seeks information protected by the shield law, the courts have set up a “balancing test” which weighs how important the information is to the criminal defendant, whether the defendant can get the information elsewhere, and other factors.  See Delaney v. Superior Court (1990) 50 Cal. 3d 785.

On the other hand, when the prosecution seeks information in a criminal law, the shield law is absolute.  Miller v. Superior Court (1999) 21 Cal. 4th 883.  And in a civil case where the press is not a party, the immunity from contempt is also absolute – there’s no balancing test.  New York Times v. Superior Court (1990) 51 Cal. 3d 453.   This case helps journalists avoid being forced to be professional witnesses instead of professional journalists.

Does the shield law cover bloggers?  Good question.  The California shield law covers people “connected with or employed upon” a “newspaper, magazine, or other periodical publication, or by a press association or wire service.”   That question is likely to be litigated in the near future.

Additional information on the California Shield Law, Evidence Code Section 1070

1070. (a) A publisher, editor, reporter, or other person connected with or employed upon a newspaper, magazine, or other periodical publication, or by a press association or wire service, or any person who has been so connected or employed, cannot be adjudged in contempt by a judicial, legislative, administrative body, or any other body having the power to issue subpoenas, for refusing to disclose, in any proceeding as defined in Section 901, the source of any information procured while so connected or employed for publication in a newspaper, magazine or other periodical publication, or for refusing to disclose any unpublished information obtained or prepared in gathering, receiving or processing of information for communication to the public.

(b) Nor can a radio or television news reporter or other person connected with or employed by a radio or television station, or any person who has been so connected or employed, be so adjudged in contempt for refusing to disclose the source of any information procured while so connected or employed for news or news commentary purposes on radio or television, or for refusing to disclose any unpublished information obtained or prepared in gathering, receiving or processing of information for communication to the public.

(c) As used in this section, “unpublished information” includes information not disseminated to the public by the person from whom disclosure is sought, whether or not related information has been disseminated and includes, but is not limited to, all notes, outtakes, photographs, tapes or other data of whatever sort not itself disseminated to the public through a medium of communication, whether or not published information based upon or related to such material has been disseminated.

Editor’s Note: Now you have it. Educate yourself if you do not want the “Real Press or Media” teams to report of what they saw then make your event private and remember press or media representatives are not your publicist and is against journalism code of ethics to accept payment for exchange on an exemplary article. Those are not real journalists and they out of the blue bought a video camera or  photo camera and became media or press but has no direction or guidelines of the rules set by professional organizations for Journalists and Media or Press Associations such as: http://www.naa.org, http://newamericamedia.org/network/association, SPJLos Angeles Press Club and many more. They have no idea the formats how to write. They have no education on the field. So sad those desperate publicists accepts anyone that claims to be media or press!

Mexican Actor Joey Valdez Seeks To Launch A Movie On A Channel About Immigration In San Diego

By Maria Gonzalez Amarillo from La Prensa San Diego published on August 21, 2015 & Translated by Steven Escobar from Diversity News Magazine via Google Translator on 8-30-2015.
________________________________________________________

The short film, “Tacos for lunch” comes from Chandan Gupta in order to educate the public about immigration and hopes to show both sides of the issue. Launched in 2013, the short film is 23 minutes and 45 seconds long. It stands out in the middle of the maelstrom that is causing the immigration issue.

In about a month, the creation and writer-director will premiere the film on Channel 22 in Las Vegas Century Prism and states that Joey Valdez, one of the actors in the film, “The aim is to disseminate it through a channel in San Diego before being broadcast in Las Vegas. Everything depends on the space available and given to us.”

When Christine, a single woman, decides to move, she enlists the help from some local day laborers. All seems to be going well, until she leaves to get “Tacos For Lunch”. She returns to a quiet apartment and a dead worker on her floor. The day continues to spiral out of control leading to a series of unexpected crazy twisted events.

The story begins with the removal of Christine (Therese McLauglhin), a US citizen, and her hiring of two Mexican immigrants, Emilio (Joey Valdez) and Paul (Billynaire Cruz), to help move boxes. By the time she leaves the house to grab a few tacos, a series of terrible events happen, culminating into an overwhelming outcome.

“We know we will be successful,” the actor told member of the press. “My agent is communicating with politicians such as Donald J. Trump Sr., to express their thoughts about the film.”

Valdez began his career very young: at age 3 he participated in his first play in the Smythe Elementary School in San Ysidro, California. Subsequently he became Joseph, the husband of the Virgin Mary in a Christmas play, and finally to the early age of 13 officially began studying acting with Drama teacher Enrique Nolasco from the House of Culture in Tijuana, Mexico.

He is now known to have worked for Ed Magik TV, a platform video entertainment and had done interviews with famous people where Valdez was the host of “Vayaconmigo” program, broadcast in Berea Vision 31.6 in Los Angeles, in which he worked with renowned artists such as singer Elvis Crespo.

Valdez is defined as a man “with traditional values who prefers to work hard for a living, rather than compromise his integrity and principles.”

In turn, the actor is a frequent host to celebrities in the online magazine Ke Chevere and as collaborated with singer and actress Carmen Jara on Univision for the show “Who is right” in Miami, which exposes and tries to solve family and marital conflict.

Joey Valdez has also participated in television projects in Indonesia and has worked as a presenter on the red carpet with his old friend Steven Escobar for Diversity News TV produced by Diversity News Productions whose content is broadcast via Youtube and Vimeo, DailyMotion, among other online platforms in video, and is based on entertainment events, celebrity interviews, awards, concerts, fashion and more.

Although the actor is confident everyone will enjoy “Tacos for lunch,” he hopes that the film reaches a significant audience—enough to impact the issues at hand and generate comments in the media, as well as prominent figures, fostering discussion, debate and more empathy towards immigration.

EDITORIAL: Donald J Trump YOU ARE FIRED!

Hey, Mr. Donald J. Trump made a big mistake to make a general statement on immigrants. As you may see we all united to send a message to the network’s that without us the Latinos your business could not exist.

It is very disappointing what you said but, we hope you learn to keep your mouth shut. Now you can see it very clear that you are not going nowhere with the attitude.

We applaud Univision decision for cutting all ties with your beauty pageant shows: Miss Universe and Miss USA. Now that NBCUniversal does the same they show that they care about the growing Latino/Hispanic immigrant population in the United States of America who has contributed to the better of this country.

Once again what just happened to Mr. Donald J. Trump is his fault and yes he will not make it to The White House. Donald J. Trump it is not personal it is just Business! You are Fired!
